There is a limit of 1170 participants (men and women) for this event. Early registration is recommended.

The Openlakes Belgium PROMO Distance will take place on Sunday 17 September 2023.
The start is at 09h01 for women and 09h11 for men.

General information

  • The departure will be given from the banks of the Centre d'Accueil de la Plate Taille at the Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure :
    • 09:01: Start SPRINT WOMEN (ROLLING START)
    • 09:11: Start SPRINT MEN (ROLLING START)
  • The deposit of the bike and the equipment in the transition park will be done exclusively on the day of the race between 7h30 and 8h45 am.
  • DISTANCES : 500m – 20km – 5km  
  • Minimum age: 14 during the current year.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2024:
2:00-8:00 pm: Opening of the Openlakes village
2:00-3:00 p.m.: Swim training
5:00-6:00 p.m.: Swim training

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024:
08h00-20h00 : Opening of the Openlakes village
16h00-18h30 : Opening of the race secretariat (number collection)

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2024:
07h00-20h00 : Opening of the Openlakes village
07h00-08h30 : Opening of the race secretariat (number collection)
07h00-08h45: Bike check-in
09h01: PROMO DISTANCE START - WOMEN (rolling start)
09h11: PROMO DISTANCE START - MEN (rolling start)
12:00 : Awards ceremony - Promo distance

CUT OFF

  • Start 09:00 (women) and 09:10 (men)
  • Swimming : 0:30
  • Swim + bike: 1:45
  • Closing of the race: 2:30

Swimming - 3800m

  • ROLLING START from the banks of the Plate Taille Welcome Center.
  • A 500m lap.
  • Wetsuits are allowed if the temperature is below 24.5° and are mandatory below 16°.
  • The maximum time is 0h30
  • Due to the race program and the different scheduled starts, warming up in the water will not be allowed before the start.

Training authorized only on Friday 20/09 from 14:00 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 18:00



Bike - 20km

  • ⚠️ DRAFTING event
  • ⚠️ Time trial bikes and extenders are allowed (for more information)
  • 1 tour of 21km around the Lakes of Eau d'Heure and Falemprise.
  • Course with relief including 340m of positive difference in altitude.
  • Bike route closed to traffic.
  • No refreshments!
  • The maximum time is 1:45 (Swim + Bike)


Running - 5km

  • 1 lap of 5 km mainly along the Plate Taille lake.
  • Course including 25m of positive difference in altitude.
  • Course composed of 95% asphalt and 5% road.
  • 1 HIGH5 supply
  • The maximum time is 2:30 (swim + bike + run).



Bibs withdrawal

  • Saturday, September 21 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Openlakes village.
  • Sunday September 22 from 07:00 to 08:30 in the Openlakes village.
  • The withdrawal of the number can only be done by the athlete himself.
  • At the time of collection of the number, the athlete MUST be in the presence of his identity card.
  • At the time of registration, the non-licensed athletes will have checked the one-day license (additional registration cost varying according to the distance). If not, the amount will be claimed at the time of withdrawal of the number.
  • You need to know your bib number: check your bib number on the registration list before picking yours up.

Prizes

The athletes awarded are as follows:

  • the first 3 women of the scratch ranking
  • the first 3 men of the scratch ranking
  • the first 3 men and women in each category

Prize-giving ceremony for the podium finishers in each category:

  • Juniors (18-19yo)  
  • Espoirs (20–23 yo)   
  • Seniors (24-39 yo) 
  • Masters A (40-49 yo) 
  • Masters B (50-59 yo) 
  • Masters C (+60 yo)
  • Masters D (+70 yo)

NOTE: Athletes who do not attend the awards ceremony will not be eligible for their awards and/or prizes.
