The Openlakes Belgium OLYMPIC Distance will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

General information

  • The departure will be given from the banks of the Centre d'Accueil de la Plate Taille at Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure.
  • Bikes and equipment may only be deposited in the transition park on race day.
  • DISTANCES : 1500m - 42km - 10km
  • Minimum age: 18 during the current year.

CUT OFF

  • Natation  : 0:50
  • Natation + vélo : 3:00 
  • Fermeture de la course : 4:30

Swimming - 1500m

  • Departure in a single wave from the banks of the Centre d'Accueil de la Plate Taille.
  • A 1500m lap.
  • Swimming suit authorized if the water temperature is below 24.5°C.
  • Swimming suit is mandatory if the water temperature is below 16°C.
  • The maximum time is 0:50
  • Warming up in the water is allowed at most 30' before the start, in the area dedicated to this purpose only (outside the start area).
  • All athletes must be out of the water 10 minutes before the start.

Training allowed only on Friday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.



Bike - 40km

  • Drafting allowed
  • 2 rounds of 21km around the Lakes of Eau d'Heure and Falemprise.
  • Course with relief including 340m of positive difference in altitude per lap.
  • Bike route closed to traffic.
  • 1 refueling per lap HIGH5
  • The maximum time is 3:00 (Swim + Bike).



Running - 10km

  • 2 tours of 5km mainly along the Plate Taille lake.
  • Course including 25m of positive difference in altitude per loop.
  • The course is 100% asphalt.
  • 2 feedings per lap HIGH5
  • The maximum time is 4:30 (swim + bike + run).



Collection of race numbers

  • The withdrawal of the number can only be done by the athlete himself.
  • At the time of collection of the number, the athlete MUST be in the presence of his identity card.
  • At the time of registration, the non-licensed athletes will have checked the one-day license (additional registration cost varying according to the distance). If not, the amount will be claimed at the time of withdrawal of the number.
  • You need to know your bib number: check your bib number on the registration list before picking yours up.

Prizes

Prize money for the first 3 men and women in the general ranking

The athletes awarded are as follows:

  • DO : the first 3 women of the scratch ranking
  • DO : the first 3 men of the scratch ranking
  • DO: the top 3 men and women in each category

Awards for the podiums in each category:

  • Juniors (18-19yo)  
  • Espoirs (20–23 yo)   
  • Seniors (24-39 yo) 
  • Masters A (40-49 yo) 
  • Masters B (50-59 yo) 
  • Masters C (+60 yo)
  • Masters D (+70 yo)

Categories for the Belgian Championship :

  • U23 = Espoir = 20 - 23 yo
  • Senior : 24-39 yo
  • Master A : 40-49 yo
  • Master B : 50-59 yo
  • Master C : 60-69 yo
  • Master D : 70-79 yo

No reward for juniors

Categories (every 5 years) for age groups only apply to international championships (European and World), but NOT to Belgian championship races.

NOTE: Athletes who do not attend the awards ceremony will not be eligible for their awards and/or prizes.
