The Openlakes Belgium TEENS DISTANCE will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
​Start time is 09:00 for girls and 09:10 for boys.

General information

  • The start will be at 9:30 a.m. from the banks of the Plate Taille Welcome Center at Eau d'Heure Lakes.
    • 09h00 : TEENS GIRLS
    • 09h10 : TEENS BOYS
  • The deposit of the bike and the equipment in the transition park will be done exclusively on the day of the race between 07:45 and 08:45.
  • DISTANCES : 500m – 21km – 5km 
  • Minimum age: 14 and 15 years old during the current year.
  • The withdrawal of race numbers can only be done by the athlete himself in the presence of his legal guardian.

2:00-8:00 pm: Opening of the Openlakes village
2:00-3:00 p.m.: Swimming practice
5:00-6:00 p.m.: Swim training

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024:
08h00-20h00 : Opening of the Openlakes village
16h00-18h00 : Opening of the race secretariat (number collection)

SUNDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2024 : 
07h00-20h00 : Opening of the Openlakes village
07h00-08h30 : Opening of the race secretariat (number collection)
07h00-08h45 : Bike check-in
09h00 : START TEENS GIRLS
09h10 : START TEENS BOYS

12h00 : Prize-giving ceremony

CUT OFF

  • Swim: 0:30
  • Swim + bike : 1:45
  • Closing time: 2:30

Swimming - 500m

  • Funnel departure from the banks of the Plate Taille Welcome Centre
  • A 500m lap
  • The maximum time is 0h30
  • cWetsuits are allowed if the temperature is below 24.5°C.
  • The swimming suit is mandatory below 16°C
  • No warm-up in the water is allowed before the start
  • Training allowed only on Friday 20/09 from 14:00 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 18:00



Bike - 21km

  • DRAFTING event
  • Warning: time trial bikes and extenders are not allowed (for more information, see the sport rules)
  • 1 lap of 21km around Lac de l'Eau d'Heure and Lac de Falemprise.
  • A challenging course with 340m of ascent.
  • Bike route closed to traffic
  • No refuelling.
  • Maximum time is 1:45 (swim + bike)



Running - 5km

  • 1 lap of 5 km, mostly along the Lac de la Plate Taille.
  • 1 HIGH5 supply
  • Course including 25m of ascent.
  • The course is 95% asphalt and 5% road.
  • Maximum time is 2:30 (swim + bike + run).




Bibs withdrawal

  • Saturday, September 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 22 from 07:00 to 08:30
  • The withdrawal of the number can only be done by the athlete himself.
  • At the time of collection of the number, the athlete MUST be in the presence of his identity card.
  • At the time of registration, the non-licensed athletes will have checked the one-day license (additional registration cost varying according to the distance). If not, the amount will be claimed at the time of withdrawal of the number.
  • You need to know your bib number: check your bib number on the registration list before picking yours up.

The athletes rewarded are the following:

  • ​KIDS : the first 3 girls of the scratch ranking
  • KIDS : the first 3 boys of the scratch ranking
  • MINI-KIDS : the first 3 girls of the scratch ranking
  • MINI-KIDS : the first 3 boys of the scratch ranking
  • TEENS : the first 3 girls of the scratch ranking
  • TEENS : the first 3 boys of the scratch ranking

NOTE: Athletes who do not attend the awards ceremony will not be eligible for their awards and/or prizes.
