General information

  • The departure will be given at 7:00 am from the banks of the Centre d'Accueil de la Plate Taille at Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure.
  • IMPORTANT: Athletes registered for the Full Distance race will be required to leave their bikes and helmets in the transition park the day before the race. The equipment will be checked by the race marshals between 16:00 and 20:00.
  • DISTANCES : 3800m – 174km – 42km
  • Minimum age: 18 years old during the current year (born in 2005 or earlier).

CUT OFF

  • Departure 7:00 am
  • Natation  : 2:15 (09h15) 
  • Swimming + 1 bike lap : 5:45 (12h45)
  • Natation + vélo : 10:00 (17h00) 
  • Swim + bike + 3 laps run : 13:30 (20h30)
  • Swim + bike + 4 laps run : 15:00 (22h00)
  • Closing of the race : 15:00 (22h00)

Swimming - 3800m

  • Departure from the banks of the Centre d'Accueil de la Plate Taille
  • Two loops of 1900m with Australian exit.
  • Wetsuits are allowed if the temperature is below 24.5°C.
  • Wetsuits are mandatory below 16°C.
  • The maximum time is 2:15.
  • ⚠️ ATTENTION: Warming up in the water is prohibited before the start.
  • Training authorized only on Friday 16/09 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm



Bike - 174km

  • NON-DRAFTING event
  • 3 laps of 57.5km around the Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure and Lac de Falemprise
  • Course with relief including 700m of positive difference in altitude per loop
  • Bike route closed to traffic
  • 3 refuelling stations/lap HIGH5
  • 1 personal supply
  • The maximum time is 10h00 (swimming + cycling)
  • Closing of the bike park at 17:00



Running - 42km

With multiple passes through the finish area, the fans will literally push the athletes to the finish line. Spectacle guaranteed!
  • 4 laps of 10.5km mostly along the Plate Taille lake.
  • Course including 50m of positive difference in altitude per loop.
  • The course is 95% asphalt and 5% road.
  • 4 refuelling stations / lap
  • The maximum time is 15:00 to complete the entire event. (Final time = 22:00). However, athletes who have not completed their 3rd lap of the run (31.5km) within 13:30 will be stopped (i.e. at 20:30).
  • Closing of the race at 22h00.



Bibs withdrawal

Friday, September 15th from 4pm to 8pm in the Openlakes village.

  • The withdrawal of the number can only be done by the athlete himself.
  • At the time of collection of the number, the athlete MUST be in the presence of his identity card.
  • At the time of registration, the non-licensed athletes will have checked the one-day license (additional registration cost varying according to the distance). If not, the amount will be claimed at the time of withdrawal of the number.
  • You need to know your bib number: check your bib number on the registration list before picking yours up.
  • ​For the RELAY teams: the 3 members of the team will have to go to the secretariat to collect their number.

Prizes

Prize money for the first 5 men and women in the general ranking

The athletes awarded are as follows:

  • the first 5 women of the scratch ranking
  • the first 5 men of the scratch ranking
  • the first man and woman in each category
  • FULL - RELAY: the first MEN team, the first WOMEN team and the first MIXED team

Prize-giving ceremony for the 1st in each FULL category:

  • Juniors (18-19ans)  
  • Espoirs (20–23 ans)   
  • Seniors (24-39 ans) 
  • Masters A (40-49 ans) 
  • Masters B (50-59 ans) 
  • Masters C (+60 ans)
  • Masters D (+70 ans)

NOTE: Athletes who do not attend the awards ceremony will not be eligible for their awards and/or prizes.


FULL distance RELAY

The OPENLAKES Full distance "relay" will take place on Saturday June 24, 2023.

The start will be given at 7:00 am (at the same time as the full solo) from the banks of the Centre d'Accueil de la Plate Taille at Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure.

PRINCIPLE OF THE RELAY

  • The relay team is composed of two or three athletes.
  • During the relay race each athlete of the team must perform at least one complete discipline: Swimming, Cycling, or Running.
  •  In case of a team of two athletes, one athlete of the team will have to complete two disciplines.
  • IMPORTANT: Athletes registered for the FULL RELAY distance will have to leave their bikes and helmets in the transition park the day before the event. The equipment will be checked by the race marshals between 16:00 and 20:00.
  • DISTANCES : 3800m – 180km – 43.5km  
  • Minimum age: 18 years old during the current year (born in 2005 or before).
  • The 3 members of the team must be present at the secretariat for the number collection (Friday, June 23rd)
  • Au moment de l’inscription, les athlètes non-licenciés auront coché la licence d’un jour (coût d’inscription supplémentaire variant en fonction de la distance). Dans le cas contraire, le montant leur sera réclamé au moment du retrait de dossard.
  • Licensed athletes must present a valid license from an international triathlon federation.

​THE RELAY IN PRACTICE 

  • The "relay" MUST be done IN the transition park at the location assigned for the team.
  • Only teammates passing the "relay" are allowed to be in the transition area.
  • The electronic chip acts as a "relay" and must be placed consecutively on the LEFT ankle of each runner.
